MADRAS UNIVERSITY RESULT

The Madras University is one of the three oldest universities in India. The University of Madras, organized on the model from the University of London, was founded in the 5th September 1857. In 2004, all engineering at the university was moved to the Anna University.

Madras University has one of the highest number of students in the Institute of Distance Education. Distance Education Center is widely distributed throughout India to help working professionals earn a degree while they work. It has four campuses in the city - Chepauk, Marina, Guindy and Taramani.

There are nearly 43 external research institutes in addition to centers of excellence at the university. The National Evaluation and Accreditation Council has given the "five-star status" at the University of Madras.
